Manizhe Ali

As a director, producer, curator, visual artist and set designer, Manizhe’s professional career spans over almost 16 years. Presently she is working as an adjunct faculty member for the film and video department at the Indus Valley School of Art and Architecture, Karachi. She has completed her M.A. in Visual and Media Anthropology from Germany. As a producer/director she has worked with the leading TV channels in Pakistan for short films and documentaries. She is also accredited for a number of set design projects and her participation in various art exhibitions as an artist. She has been the CEO of ‘MANIZHE’, an exclusive silver jewelry brand since 2010. Manizhe also writes regularly for a magazine in Karachi.

Mehnaz Diwan

Mehnaz Diwan completed her Bachelors in Fine Arts with painting as a major from Indus Valley School of Art and Architecture, Karachi. As a Production Designer, Associate Producer and Art Director she has many projects to her credit, out of which ‘BotalGali’, ‘Josh’, ‘Main Hoon Shahid Afridi’ and ‘Chambeli’ are the most well-known. She has been a consultant for set designing at PTV, PTV home, and Indus Vision. Working with Geo as a Manager Creative Services Mehnaz, headed the production design department with 46 subordinates in Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad and Dubai studios.

Sumera Saeed Naqvi

With a broad writing experience since 1988, Sumera Naqvi is a prominent journalist, presently working as a Sub-Editor, at Daily Dawn Karachi. Coordination and assigning articles for cover stories on a variety of social, environmental and civic issues is a part of her major role as a sub-editor, through which she aims to create awareness and garner public support on various issues. As part of her freelance development consultancy work, she has carried out assignments of research, evaluation, compilation, writing, synthesizing, and summarizing reports since 1999 on social issues with UNICEF, Human Rights Commission of Pakistan and various NGOs in Pakistan. Sumera has also reviewed and previewed theatre plays produced and directed by ‘National Academy of Arts’, Karachi and has reported an enormous number of cultural activities in Karachi.

Dr. Ayesha Usman Dadabhoy

After securing her medical degree from Sindh Medical College Karachi, Dr. Ayesha practiced in Ireland and Baghdad before returning to Pakistan in early 90s. Dr. Ayesha established a non-profit, non-governmental organization ‘Healthcare Services’ for health. She has been looking after the health of more than 6000 school children for the last 20 years. She has reached out to thousands of families through public seminars and distributing newsletters and pamphlets on asthma, growth and development, nutrition and school related injuries to name a few. She has trained doctors, Paramedics and even school children in dispensing first aid. As a provincial consultant in 2003, she has contributed in making of the national plan for children and prepared a report on child welfare. She has been working for the rehabilitation of the visually challenged since 2003.

Dr. Amber Amir

Dr. Amber Amir is an Associate Professor Medicine at The Avicenna Medical College and Hospital Lahore, and a consultant at Therapy Works Psychiatric Hospital. She has completed her medical degree from the Dow Medical College Karachi, and her specialization in Internal and Family Medicine from College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan. Throughout her professional career she has a number of medical writings to her credit and has participated in a number of seminars. Through her publication she aims to create awareness in the masses about the social issues.

Rafiah Mudassir

Rafia was a graduate of 1987 batch, she holds an M.Sc in Advanced Professional Studies in Education from University of Strathclyde. Her key skills include capacity building, leadership development, instructional development, learning strategies/ skill-building, coaching, counseling & mentoring teachers, educational project & programme management, diagnostic testing/ assessment, student advising/ mentoring/ support and individualized educational plans.

She believes in the innate potential of each individual which is a gift and resource to be tapped for the greater benefit of the society. She is founder & Managing Director Noor ul Huda Education Private Limited, which is working on improving the quality of Education through incorporating 21st Century Learning, technology integration and leadership skills in all individuals, students, teachers, principals and all concerned with finding their purpose in life.

Samira Omer Manto

Samira Omer Manto, is the Executive Director and a member of Board of Directors at IGI Finex Securities Ltd. She has completed her Bachelors in International Studies and Economics from Hllegheny College USA and has attended London School of Economics, UK for a program in Developmental Economics. She is an Oracle certified professional for Oracle Developer 2000. Her professional career spans almost 19 years throughout which she has been working at different leadership positions like AKD securities Ltd, Crescent Software Production Pakistan, International Asset Management Pakistan.

Dr. Aliya Rehman

Dr. Aliya Rehman, is presently working as a Professor at the department of Botany, University of Karachi. Her teaching experience spans over 30 years. She holds a PHD in Botany from University of Karachi and M.Sc. in Biology with distinction, from California. She is an approved research supervisor for Higher Education Commission since July 2003 and the Principal Investigator of Research Projects funded by University of Karachi as well. She has a number of research projects to her credit and has spoken at a number of conferences and seminars.

Dr. Zehra Fadoo

The Director, Pediatric Oncology Fellowship program, Section Head Pediatric Hematology/ Oncology and Associate Professor at the Department of Pediatrics and Child Health Aga Khan University Hospital, Dr. Zehra Fadoo has completed her Medical degree from the Aga Khan University Hospital Karachi. Adding to her qualification she has completed a diploma in Clinical Epidemiology from the Aga Khan University and fellowship in Pediatric Bone Marrow transplant from University of Toronto. She has numerous national and international publications to her credit and has received grants for a number of successful research projects. Dr. Fadoo is a certified Diplomate, American Board of Pediatrician USA.

Dr. Farhana Amanullah

Dr. Farhana Amanullah is a Consultant Pediatrician and Pediatric Nephrologist based in Karachi, Pakistan. She completed her fellowship in Pediatric Nephrology from Children’s Hospital Boston, Harvard Medical School. Dr. Farhana has been responsible for starting Pediatric Medicine services at Indus Hospital and establishing the 26-bedded pediatric ward in 2009. She is the Director of the Indus Hospital Pediatric Tuberculosis Program and a member of the Stop TB Partnership’s Childhood TB Core Group. She is currently (2011-2013) an MDR-TB Fellow through the Program in Infectious Disease and Social Change, Department of Global Health and Social Change, Harvard Medical School.

Yasmin Nanjiani

YasminNanjiani has over 24 years of diversified experience in various areas of I.T. she has extensive experience relating to Project Management, Business Process Re-engineering, training, designing, infrastructure management, implementation and systems quality assurance. She is working in Shell where she started as Country GSAP Development Manager for UAE, Oman, Turkey and Pakistan. Currently her role is part of the global SAP support team based out of London supporting the order to cash and Logistics area. She is responsible for the successful delivery of these areas in projects all across the globe from Australia to the United States.

Sehba Nabi

Sehba Nabi was the first Engineer from HGS. She did her B.E from NED University of Engineering and Technology, Karachi and has work experience of over 30 years at the National Engineering Services Pakistan (Pvt) Ltd (NESPAK) where she is currently the Chief Engineer. Besides working as a structural engineer she has also worked as co-coordinator Quality Management System (QMS) and Co-Coordinator Professional Development Program (Human Resource/ Training). She works independently on projects assigned to her and supervises professionals and paraprofessionals working with her.

Moyena Niazi

She completed her Bachelors of Architecture from Indus Valley School of Art and Architecture in 1995 and received the Founders Award. She set up her own firm “Design Options” in 2002. Her projects have been nominated for Design Excellence Awards and have also been published. Her honorary works for the city include the PAANI project- a mangrove reserve, and Revitalisation of Cantt Station for “Pursukoon Karachi”. She is a well reputed member of the Pakistan Council of Architects and Town planners and the Institute of Architects Pakistan. She was one of the first members of the Pakistan Institute of Interior Designers and has served on the EC and Board of Studies of Architecture at the IVS, was President of the IVS Alumni Association. She is currently a member of the IVS Board of Governors.

Mahrukh Ahmed

Mahrukh Ahmed is an experienced teacher and an accredited trainer who launched the Phonics Institute in Pakistan. Her experience spans over 15 years. She is currently running her own institute by the name of ‘Phonics’ in Pakistan, with an aim to enable children between the age of 4 to 10 years of ages to become fluent English readers, proficient writers and accurate spellers. Her program has many different literary modules such as developing phonemic awareness, writing creatively and learning comprehension skills. Her services include consultancy for schools, teacher training, and workshops for parents and tutoring for children aged 4 to 10 year old.

Amina Murad

Amina Murad, is an eminent educationist and the Principal of Star Links School, Karachi. She holds an MA in Education from University of Karachi and an MBA from Newport University, Karachi. With extensive experience in the field of education spanning over 20 years, she has served the roles of a teacher, trainer, counselor and author. As a trainer she has conducted a number of workshops and training programs in Pakistan, USA, UK, Mauritius and India, emphasizing on the integration of character education and the Quranic concepts in the curriculum at different levels. She has been on the leading Television channels to share her views on education, character building and issues of women in our society and has received several awards in recognition of her services.

Naheed Yahya

Ms. Naheed Yahya has a degree in ‘Graphic Design’ from National College of Arts, Lahore and Editorial Illustration and Fashion Illustrations from Academy of Arts College, San Francisco. With more than 30 Years of practical experience she has worked as an Art Editor for ‘SHE’ magazine and Associate Professor at the Indus Valley School of Art and Architecture. As a member of the Aga Khan University Examination Board, Art Panel she has worked on the development of an Art Examination Syllabus for SSC and HSC in Pakistan.

Razina Bilgrami

With a Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering from Imperial College London she has 30 years of professional experience, the last 16 years of which have been with the United Nations. She joined the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Islamabad in 1997 and was selected for an International post in 2002. After Serving in UNDPS Regional Bureau for Asia and the Pacific in New York for 8 years, she is now posted in Sri Lanka functioning as Country Director. This entails providing strategic leadership and guidance on a board range of programme and operational issues.

Saman Ahmad

Saman Ahmad is among the first ever female batch of pilots and aeronautical engineers from Pakistan Air force. She endured all hardships of full training sessions of 4.5 years of engineers and 3.5 years of general duty pilots, which included utmost physical and mental exertion. She graduated in 2007 and received a gold medal and chief of Air force trophy for top positions in Avionics Engineering. Presently she is in Turkey on a PAF sponsored scholarship doing Masters in Cryptography.

Shaista Javed

Shaista Javed is a role model for talented women hockey players in Pakistan. She is Vice- President Sind Women’s Hockey Association and President- Karachi Divisional Women’s Hockey Association. Selected as a player in the Women’s Hockey Team she presented Pakistan in Asia Cup in Japan in 1981. She has the distinction of being the first female coach of Pakistan Women’s Hockey Team and has also served as Technical Official and Tournament Director on innumerable occasions.
