Letter From Our Principal

Dear Reader,

Welcome to Habib Public School! It is not their genes but our actions that will decide our children’s future.
— Stuart Shanker

Our school’s mission is ‘to empower students to explore and expand their interests, reach their fullest potential, develop the skills necessary for success and become ethical, responsible, and engaged members of ever wider communities’. We nurture the students’ development with the 21st century skills of creativity, collaboration, critical thinking and communication. We offer our learners a comprehensive education from Class 1 (UK National Curriculum) to O Levels, with the option of the AKU Board from Class 8 onwards. We also offer the AKU College programme for our students. The basis of our curriculum is to provide a strong foundation across the entire spectrum of academic & co-curricular activities which will inspire the Child to aim higher and take the school to greater heights. We are working diligently towards accomplishing our goals.

My role as a leader in this ‘change’ process is to support, encourage and challenge the HPS fraternity to achieve the maximum outcome and to facilitate in their transformation. As an alumnus of Habib Public School, it is a complete delight to see the school grow so much and as I am writing this message, I am having some deep dives down the memory lane. During the last days as a student at Habib Public School (1982) I approached some of the teachers to share their words of wisdom with me and Mr. Iftikhar our technical drawing teacher wrote these words in my autograph book:

The more I study the more I discover my ignorance.

His words were so impactful and these have been a source of inspiration for me and whenever I get the opportunity, I share this with the educators. This also relates a lot with the idea of knowledge paradox which in simple words is the more I know the more I realize that I don’t know. The most difficult in my opinion is to know oneself. Rumi has captured this idea so well as he says: Yesterday I was clever so I wanted to change the world, today I am wise so I want to change myself. As an institution we keenly focus on the CHILD as the core of all activities. The faculty has embraced the idea of “Student Centered Learning” and it has become part and parcel of the teaching and learning process. The holistic approach towards our learning framework with the supplementation of digital learning program is adding more value to the efforts towards the overall development of the child.

All in all, we are working persistently to move Habib Public School towards excellence.

Yours Sincerely,
Minhas Tejani
