Habib Public School, located on nearly 18 acres in the heart of Karachi, boasts one of the largest campuses in the region. Our expansive grounds include a swimming pool, an astroturf, and a versatile auditorium – gymnasium with over 1,000 seats.


The campus also features spacious classrooms, labs, and libraries, all designed to support top-notch education. At HPS, we are committed to providing the best facilities and education, ensuring our students thrive in a truly expansive and supportive environment.

Auditorium


Built in 1962, the auditorium at HPS seats up to 200 people and serves as a hub for school events and capacity-building sessions for students and teachers. The stage features a versatile back wall that doubles as a projection screen, complemented by a full multimedia setup.

Science Labs


Habib Public School proudly features advanced science laboratories designed to support top-notch education. Our secondary section includes dedicated labs for physics, chemistry, and biology, all meticulously organized and stocked to meet the Board Curriculum.


These facilities provide essential hands-on experience, helping students enhance their practical knowledge. The junior section lab is equipped with materials for basic experiments and a multimedia system for interactive learning. Qualified professionals supervise and guide students to ensure a safe and effective learning environment.

Gymnasium


The school gymnasium boasts 13,000 sq feet of wooden flooring for international level basketball games and bleachers that seat up to 1,000 people. Open to students from 8 am to 3:30 pm, Monday to Friday, it hosts indoor sports activities and major school events.

The 40-meter stage is used for concerts, plays, and graduations, supported by high-quality lighting and audio systems. Full-time sports instructors are available for extra coaching, ensuring students receive comprehensive support in their athletic pursuits.

Computer Labs


At HPS, primary and secondary students benefit from five state-of-the-art computer labs, essential for modern education. Emphasizing technological literacy, we integrate technology into learning with web-based research assignments and projector-based instruction.

Our computer labs teach crucial skills such as word processing, spreadsheet use, graphical development, and coding. This focus on technology ensures that students are well-prepared for future academic and career opportunities, aligning with our commitment to providing a top-notch education and preparing students for success.

Sports Ground


At HPS, sports play a vital role in student life. Our expansive play areas and sports grounds offer ample opportunities for physical activity and fitness. We foster team spirit and healthy competition through regular inter- and intra-school events. The school hosts numerous tournaments throughout the year, including throw-ball, netball, volleyball and hockey.

We are proud that many of our finalists advance to national competitions, reflecting our commitment to providing the best education and supporting student achievements in sports.

Art Room


Our art room, designed for up to 30 students, provides a space for creativity and artistic expression through painting, drawing, and sculpting. Artistic activities support students’ mental wellbeing and foster creative thinking, which enhances their problem-solving skills in subjects like science.

Swimming Pool


HPS boasts a single, expertly maintained swimming pool that serves all the students. With cutting-edge filtration technology, we ensure the pool remains pristine and hygienic throughout the year. Our experienced and qualified swimming coaches have been training students for over 65 years.


We are dedicated to making sure that every student becomes a proficient swimmer by the end of class 3, highlighting our commitment to providing a comprehensive education that includes essential life skills.

Libraries


At HPS, both students and faculty are encouraged to utilize our extensive library facilities. All students have designated library periods to explore a diverse range of materials, enhancing their intellectual growth. Our library is meticulously organized and regularly updated to support academic learning.


Resources include encyclopedias, reference books, fiction, non-fiction, biographies, technical materials, magazines, and more. Additionally, computer and internet facilities are available, reflecting our commitment to providing a top-notch education and the best resources for our school community

Student Clinic

 

Our school clinic, staffed by a full-time doctors, provides essential first aid and oversees regular health screenings. The doctor monitors each student’s development and tracks common school infections, such as flu, mumps, and chickenpox.

 

In addition, the physician conducts health awareness workshops to educate students on maintaining a healthy lifestyle. This focus on health and wellness reflects our commitment to offering the best education and ensuring the well-being of our students as part of our comprehensive approach to schooling.

Early 1950s

Habib Public School is the realization of a dream. When the four sons of Habib Ismail (banker, philanthropist, and visionary) migrated to Pakistan, they saw the need for high-quality schools led by the Muslim community. Their goal was to provide quality education to all without discrimination. High-standard teaching and learning facilities at subsidized rates were the guiding lights on which HPS came into being.

Habib Public School’s humble beginnings were in just 4 blocks of buildings: Ahmed House, Ghulam Ali House, Dawood House, and Sharif House. These were run by the school’s first administrator, the late Mr. Yousuf Qasim, who overlooked admissions, staff appointments, and construction work as the school steadily expanded and grew.

In the school’s early years, there was a real emphasis on developing Habib Public School’s academic credentials as well as its sports facilities. HPS’s pioneering staff members have always believed that academic achievement and physical education were closely linked together. Values like teamwork, resilience, patience, and respect were instilled into children’s psyche on the playing field and would contribute to developing them into excellent citizens of tomorrow.

In 4 short years, HPS grew into one of the most high-profile academic institutions of Karachi. Soon, the city’s elite were flocking to HPS for their children’s educational needs.

Habib Public School started out with just 3 admissions on its first day in 1959, but in a single year the school was filled to capacity with students, despite the marshy and somewhat isolated geography of the area. There were no easily accessible public transport facilities in the region at the time, and many children had to walk from as far as Saddar or Cantt Station to get to school.

There was a surge in land reclamation projects to expand the school and its facilities. In these 15 years, HPS developed a second hockey field, a swimming pool, an auditorium, high quality physics and chemistry labs, and expanded the number of classrooms available to students.

In 1980, HPS introduced the Cambridge qualification system to ensure its students had the best education possible available to them.

The founding ethos of quality education for all has remained at the heart of the school throughout its growth. Our student population has continued to be reflective of the diversity in our wider society. The school has strived to create a level playing field for all its students, regardless of backgrounds, to ensure endless possibilities for each one.
