Our Approach
At Habib Public High School, we are committed to providing our students with the best opportunities and to set them up for success after school. To ensure our students get a quality higher education, Habib Public High School follows the guidelines of the Agha Khan University Examination Board (AKU-EB). The AKU-EB certificate was introduced at HPS in 2007 and has been in full implementation since 2008. What makes the AKU-EB curriculum stand out from other programs is its unique focus on conceptual learning and development of students’ critical thinking skills. Students who pass the AKU-EB certification are eager to take on the challenge of developing their problem solving and analytical skills in unique ways.

About the AKU-EB examination board
The Aga Khan University Examination Board (AKU-EB) is Pakistan’s first private autonomous examination body for secondary – SSC and higher secondary – HSSC school certifications. The Aga Khan University Examination Board’s primary purpose is to improve the quality of education by delivering quality, accessible, syllabi and examinations across the nation, in accordance with the National Curriculum of Pakistan. AKU-EB qualifications are recognized and valued by leading higher education institutions nationally and internationally. AKU-EB is the only examination board in South Asia to integrate e-marking, or computer-based marking, in its assessment methodology
Within the AKU-EB curriculum, emphasis is placed on concept based learning. Students are assessed on their understanding and application of knowledge. The Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC) qualifications awarded by AKU-EB are accredited by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) and Inter Board Committee of Chairmen (IBBC).
Curriculum
The AKU-EB grade 11 and 12 syllabus is offered in English at Habib Public High School. The curriculum places a heavy emphasis on real world applicable learning, so students can also expect many opportunities to engage in a series of project-based learning assignments. To earn their certification, students are expected to adequately fulfil a series of requirements known as the Student Learning Outcomes (SLO’s).
Candidates’ knowledge is assessed at the end of grade 11 and 12 and upon successful completion of all requirements, students are awarded their Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC) at the end of grade 12.

Reasons to pursue a Higher Secondary School Certification
A college education can give students a chance to really explore the subjects that they love in more depth and detail. Pursuing an HSSC is a great way to bridge the gap between SSC and university level learning. A college level education is an important stepping-stone for many students into young adulthood—for many students it is their first chance to develop some real-life skills on their own. College is a great time to explore your identity and to mould yourself into the person you wish to become and pursuing an HSSC at HPS is an excellent way for you to kick start this part of your journey.

Science Society
The Habib Public High School Science Society is an opportunity for our scientifically talented students. The club aims to create a space that nurtures and inspires young scientists and encourages them to delve deeper into their interests and curiosities.
Entrepreneurship Society
Entrepreneurship is one of the hottest buzzwords of the 21st century. Modern entrepreneurs break free from tradition to create their own opportunities. They do this by developing their brilliant innovations to provide value to the economy. At the Entrepreneurship Society, we aim to develop these entrepreneurial skills in our students, since brilliant ideas go to waste without the skills to make them a reality.
Dramatic Club
The Dramatics Club at HPS proudly stages plays and dramas that are HPS originals. We are proud to say that our very own students write, direct, produce, and act in these productions to entertain and inspire their peers. These student-run productions are always a delight to see and encourage a real spirit of camaraderie between students.
Art and Music Club
The Art and Music Club at HPS aims to promote the development of creativity in its many form. The Club is filled with talented musicians that perform at a variety of events throughout the academic year and artists that use a variety of mediums to express themselves
Student Council
At Habib Public High School, every year the Student Council is elected by the student body. The role of the students’ council to work together with faculty and School Leadership Team. Their major role is to support student expression and provide assistance in school affairs and activities, give opportunities for student experience in leadership and encourage student/faculty & community relations at large.
Sports Council
The Sports Council helps with organizing and executing regular training, sporting events and team management. The sports council members assist coaches in keeping teams motivated and organized. The sports council members are chosen from within the sports team. Those students which excel in all areas of schooling, including but not limited to sports, education, discipline, punctuality and leadership are selected to be part of the sports council.
Magazine Editorial Board
The Habibian Yearbook is a school periodical publication. The editorial committee for the yearbook is an in house one. Every year, volunteer students are chosen from all the sections. These young people are responsible for the collection of the pieces. Then they select appropriate articles and pieces. They also oversee theprinting and publishing. This is a collaborative effort of the entire team.

I feel extremely privileged to introduce myself as the Head teacher of AKU section in Habib Public School and Habib Public High School. For the past 20 years, I have undertaken various roles and worked in the capacity of teacher, subject coordinator, senior coordinator, deputy head teacher. Moreover, I have also served as a teacher trainer and a mentor from different platforms.
Habib Public High School is a diverse and vivacious learning community where expectations and values are high. We foster an environment where all students show respect and kindness to one another and the world around them. We provide them with opportunities to think critically about the ‘why, how and what’ of the world and its issues and problems, around them. Our students are progressing in terms of learning, creativity and their understanding of themselves and others. We are very proud of what they achieve and we are relentless in our efforts to ensure that they are academically, socially and emotionally prepared for the future.
In the 21st century, the digital revolution affects us all, quite simply it is changing everything. Habib Public High School took a new start of digitalized teaching and learning to equip its students with technology and build their capacity to reach their fullest potential. We offer students the opportunity of blended learning through google classroom along with the various digital communication platforms where they can easily collaborate and communicate with teachers and each other. We also focus on digital citizenship where these digital natives learn all about digital etiquettes and their digital footprint.
