Department of Pedagogy, Curriculum and Assessment

​​Professional learning at HGS focuses on establishing a culture of inquiry, exploration, and innovation. Academic and professional qualifications are not the only things we value at HGS. The Department of Pedagogy, Curriculum, and Assessment has been specially established to facilitate the in-house continuous learning and development of our faculty. Providing 1-on-1 support for our teachers and subject leaders helps them to expand their contextual knowledge, develop the necessary skills to implement this knowledge, and to use the best possible instructional strategies in the classroom.

By involving our teachers in HGS’ curriculum design, implementation, and evaluation, we can ensure our ownership of the school program. Student achievement remains the ultimate objective of all of our professional development plans. At HGS, we believe that schools improve when all students improve—and students improve when teaching improves!
