Our Approach
At HGS, we believe that all children are born learners, and that quality early childhood education should always support a child’s natural learning capabilities. It is said that, up until the age of seven, children’s minds are incredibly open to all kinds of learning. Young children’s brains operate like a sponge, soaking up all kinds of information about their environment. At such young ages, children learn best by interacting with the world around them, while slightly older children tend to learn by questioning everything that they see.
At the HGS pre-primary section, we provide children with all kinds of opportunities to explore the world around them in ways that supplement their natural learning tendencies. By engaging your child’s five senses in educational play and by encouraging their natural curiosity, we make sure to set a strong foundation for your child’s future in education.
Our Goals
Our curriculum and approach are especially created for the developmental needs of a child
The Early Childhood Education (ECE) curriculum was created to specifically target and improve your child’s physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development. Each of these areas are continuously monitored and evaluated to ensure that each child’s development goals and benchmarks are being met.
One of the greatest skills for your child to learn in the 21st century is the art of effective communication. Young children must not only be taught to communicate by learning the language of choice, but must also be shown how to communicate in a way that is respectful and culturally appropriate.
“The art of communication is the language of leadership.”
-James Humes
We recognize that all of our students come from different backgrounds and have different baseline skill levels. Keeping this in mind, our faculty diligently works to immerse all of our little ones in an extensive environment of language. We support our scholars’ language development skills in two key ways:
- By being role models of good communication and embodying modes of speech that are culturally appropriate and well mannered.
- By being very adaptive and flexible in our approach to communication skill development. Every child will learn at their own pace, and it is our job as educators to be cognizant of each child’s individual needs. Our faculty will make sure to give students ample time and opportunity to practice their language skills in a safe learning environment.
Opportunities For Our Students
Some of the opportunities that we provide to students to develop these language skills include:
- Reading
- Storytelling
- Show-and-tell time
- Roleplaying activities
- Singing poems and nursery rhymes
- Assembly and classroom presentations
- Q&A sessions with the headteacher

Head Teacher’s Welcome Message
“
Our mission has always been to form an engaging learning community. We do this by taking care of the children, giving support to the parents at home and by providing guidance and training to our faculty. Our early childhood program is a unique model to develop valuable skills that are essential for a child’s growth. Our curriculum and academic endeavors are based on the knowledge of child development, focused on three things primarily; respecting the dignity, worth, and uniqueness of each individual, appreciating and supporting close ties between the child and the family, and helping children achieve their full potential, specifically in the context of relationships that are based on trust, respect, and positive regard.
Over the years, we have ensured a safe, stimulating environment that we believe is appropriate for children to socialize, emote, and express themselves fully. Seeing that times are drastically changing; we have been quick to adapt to the new strategies needed to maintain our vision and take it forward. We have successfully integrated increased use of technology in our curriculum whilst maintaining student-teacher and teacher-parent bond. To communicate, educate, and partner with families, we have been using various applications and online software to conduct orientations, trainings, conferences, and fun activities to bring our school to each child’s home.
Early Childhood Education doesn’t end with creating a good curriculum and strong community building methods, it is a medium through which children are trained to think creatively, hone their talents, develop new skills, and design a better world. We invite you to join us on this journey.
